Hi, I'm Lila

It certainly is. Lila means ‘divine play’ in Sanskrit. Or as I have seen it described: ‘The universe is a playground for the gods.’ In the Hindu worldview, this world is all a big illusion (Maya). The only way to fully experience the moment is by playing with it (Lila).

I have always brought this sense of playfulness with me. It is woven into the way I make music. I sit down with a certain feeling or theme and just let the words flow out of me. To me, music holds a certain degree of magic. It has the potential to turn something as fleeting as a feeling into a tangible product. How magical is that?

It has only been two years since I discovered Fruity Loops Studio, in which I started producing my own music. It has skyrocketed my creative process. I discovered how to create beats, sing harmonies with myself and add synthesizers to my guitar loops. 

I love creating songs, not just for me, but also for others. A song is a unique way to express your love for someone. Or even, since I wrote a song for my grandfather’s funeral, a way to express grief and celebrate a person’s life and personality.
